Bryan Austin aka Austin Bryant
Bryan Austin aka Austin Bryant
A minister- singer-songwriter born and reared in St. Louis, MO where he first started to develop as a singer. Bryan later moved to Los Angeles to expand his artistic development. In Los Angeles, Bryan studied under Dini Clarke (who coached such talents as Al Jareau, Roberta Flack and Peobo Bryson) and under Bob Corff (1st Jesus in the Broadway production of Jesus Christ Superstar).
Some of Bryan's Los Angeles successes include a brief contract with Redd Foxx Productions, appearances at the Comedy Store, Gazzari's, (on the Sunset Strip), Sahara Hotel - Las Vegas and many other venues.
While in Los Angeles, Bryan (born Austin Bryant) had a manager who thought Bryan Austin was more commercial, so for over twenty years Austin's commercial name has been Bryan Austin.
Throughout his career, he's been compared to some of R&B's best (Eddie Kendricks, Smokey Robinson, etc.). Lately he's compared to Aaron Neville, Johnny Mathis and even Mel Torme. He's truly honored to be compared to such greats but what he loves most about his career is that he's finally come into his own style.
After 17 years in Los Angeles, Bryan returned to his native St. Louis where he worked with some of St. Louis' finest musical talents.
The son of a Baptist church deacon, Bryan now resides in Kansas City, Mo. He has become very active in his church (St. James United Methodist Church). This motivation has inspired him to reach back into his roots develop and rediscover his Christian, Gospel music. And he believes that since he's done this, he's been blessed to grow from a person who sings well into a Singer. Bryan's 3-1/2 octave range is a real treat to the ears.
His "Thankful For The Dream" CD provides a tool for him to sing praises of thanksgiving to the Lord. Many say "Thankful For The Dream" is great for devotion, meditation and quiet time to praise the Lord. When you listen to him sing "His Eye Is On The Sparrow", you can hear the joy, peace and serenity of sparrows singing in the morning. His "Thank You Lord"(a personal testimony) is considered by most who hear it, their own testimony. This CD will make you thankful for the dream that the Lord is expressing through Bryan.
On “Chosen For The Dream” Bryan shares in the celebration of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with his gift of song. Bryan starts out with Holy Doo-Wop (singing all the vocals); he continues with carols and sacred tunes and ends this set with an accappella medley (singing all the vocals). His rendition of "O Holy Night" is being called "Pure Poetry".
