When the world was first created, God knew he had something missing
Man was not a part of it, after he was man was left wishing
For a companion created in Eve, now they were both all set
They disobeyed and God said, "This is the thanks I get"?

Noah was obedient, while the rest of the world chose to sin
His family was sparred the flood to start the world over again
The torrid rain cleansed the sin away, as the people were getting all wet
They knew the flood came after God said, "This is the thanks I get"?

Moses led the Hebrews out of bondage, God parted the Red Sea that day
Pharaoh's army learned a lesson about God, choosing to learn the hard way
The Hebrews left hundreds of years of bondage without a single regret
Worshipped an idol god, making God say, "This is the thanks I get"?

Got sent His only begotten Son who died on the cross for our sins
His blood came streaming down, so that we can all live again
With everything Jesus stands for, how much longer can anyone let
Themself reject God's Son, and have God say, "THIS IS THE THANKS I GET"?
